A Toronto court has ruled that a woman accused of killing three people in three Ontario cities last year is unfit to stand trial at this time and must undergo psychiatric treatment.Sabrina Kauldhar, 30, was arrested in October and charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.

The Supreme Court of Canada has ordered a new trial in the case of Jennifer Pan, a Markham woman who arranged a murder-for-hire plot in 2010 that left her mother dead and her father critically injured.The court found that the trial judge failed to properly instruct the jury, affirming a 2023 Ontario Court of Appeal ruling that ordered a new trial. The appeal court ruling upheld the convictions of Ms. Pan and four co-accused in the attempted murder of her father, but overturned their 2014 murder convictions in the shooting death of Ms. Pan’s mother.
