Ontario Premier Doug Ford has put a 25 percent surcharge on U.S.-bound electricity in response to the Trump tariffs. He warned several American states that he would be doing this, and says he will not relent until the U.S. President removes all Canadian-targeted tariffs. This decision impacts roughly 1.5 million homes and businesses across Michigan, Minnesota, and New York. It will cost $400,000 per day to those three states. Marguerite Wells is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Clean Energy New York, which is an advocacy group. She joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. And as this trade war with America continues, Canada’s wine industry is calling for an immediate removal of interprovincial trade barriers. We dig deeper with Craig MacMillan, the co-owner of Stonehouse Vineyard in Alexandria, Ontario. Plus, it appears that China is launching retaliatory tariffs on Canadian canola oil, pork, and seafood. We explain how this could be a massive hit to our country’s farmers.
