How do Canadians feel about the United States right now? Spoiler alert: Not great, Bob. That’s according to a recent poll by the Metropolis Institute – a non-profit, non-partisan think-tank. Just over 1,500 respondents took part in the two-day survey, and the findings could point to an historical realignment of who Canadians view as their allies. Expressions of grief and sympathy came pouring in on Saturday for an international college student shot dead by mistake in Hamilton while waiting for a city bus.The death of 21-year-old Harsimrat Randhawa, who Hamilton police described as an innocent bystander killed by stray gunfire as occupants of one car shot at another, triggered expressions of grief from officials with the college where she studied, the Canadian city where she lived and the country she first called home.
