The room fell silent when Kathleen Connors stepped onto the stage in front of hundreds at the 1999 convention of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions. It was in that moment that Ms. Connors’s daughter realized just how influential her mother was as Canada’s top advocate for nurses.The ballroom was filled with hundreds of people and there had been a constant chatter throughout the day, recalled Kara Connors, who was 19 at the time.
Elections Canada wants you to know your ballot will count whether you mark it with a pen or with a pencil.The independent agency says it’s seeing posts on social media claiming voters have to use a pencil to mark their ballot.
