March 27, 2025

An Ottawa-based travel company says they have failed to sell a single American bus tour since U.S. President Donald Trump announced tariffs on Canadian goods. According to Travac Tours, a trip to New York City is one of their most popular options, and it has been for years. That is, until we got to the first day of February. Fast-forward to late-March, and the company isn’t even planning any U.S. trips. Oh, and if you already booked one for this year, it could be on the chopping block. Travac Tours owner Karl Gildner joins the program in Hour 3. But first, it's time to tackle today's Question of the Day, which once again revolves around U.S. President Donald Trump. Liberal leader Mark Carney plans to speak with Trump in the coming days to address the incoming barrage of tariffs. Until things simmer down, Carney doesn't consider the U.S. as a reliable trading partner for this country. How can we negotiate with the American boss? Do you think that's even possible? Text into the show and let us know.
The Liberal election platform said a Carney government would send "more Canadian diplomats and officials abroad" to expand trade and "restore Canadian leadership."

Nearly 200 new measles cases were identified in Ontario last week, in a sign the country’s most populous province is nowhere close to containing the spread of the highly contagious virus. In its weekly surveillance report on Thursday, Public Health Ontario said that from last October until this Monday, the province has reported 1,440 cases in 17 public-health units. (Of those cases, 1,221 are confirmed while the other 219 are probable.)
