Volunteers search for missing children in rural Nova Scotia
May 4, 2025
A search for two young children in Nova Scotia is now into its third day as search and rescue teams combed the thick forest overnight Saturday and authorities issued a local emergency alert early Sunday morning. Six-year-old Lily Sullivan and her brother, four-year-old Jack Sullivan, are believed to have wandered away from a home in Lansdowne Station, a heavily wooded area in Pictou County, an hour and a half northwest of Halifax, say RCMP.
Sturgeon County officials declared a state of emergency Sunday, May 4, as three aerial firefighting helicopters, backed by ground crews, battled an out-of-control wildfire.
