RCMP believe a car involved in a fatal 1985 hit-and-run may still be in Nova Scotia and are using new tech, plus a video appeal, to help solve the case.
A three-year-old child was struck by the starting gate, which was being pulled by a pickup truck, and later died.

For years, Ottawa city councillors put off a decision on a long-term garbage plan because their only options seemed too scary to contemplate. A new landfill to replace the city site on Trail Road would be expensive and politically unpopular wherever it was situated. The obvious alternative has always been incineration, or “waste to energy” as it is now known. Again, costly and unlikely to be welcome wherever it goes. Read More
