Prime Minister Mark Carney to take questions from reporters on Wednesday

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney will take questions from reporters in Ottawa on Wednesday evening after wrapping up a two-day cabinet retreat to prepare for the upcoming House of Commons session. Carney will speak to reporters at 6 p.m. on Parliament Hill. There will be no shortage of issues for Carney to address. The House of Commons will kick off a new session next week with a throne speech read by King Charles III, with the government planning to implement its promised tax cut before the House breaks for the summer. Carney also confirmed to reporters on the weekend that his government would table a budget in the fall , rather than next year as Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne had said earlier. The government also confirmed comments this week by U.S. President Donald Trump that it was in talks with the U.S. about joining its new missile defence system dubbed the Golden Dome. More to come.
