Wildfires force thousands to flee homes in Western Canada

Wildfires across Western Canada have forced thousands of people from their homes, as dry, warm and windy temperatures intensified new flares Friday, causing Manitoba to ask for international help. Manitoba and Saskatchewan are under provincewide states of emergency for the next month, while evacuations have also been ordered in large parts of Alberta and British Columbia.
The Northwood Recovery clinic in Chinatown, which has stirred controversy among Chinatown residents, will be closing on June 9. Read More

Wildfires in Western Canada have forced thousands of people to flee their homes and the heavy smoke has prompted nearly 250 air quality warnings and advisories in four provinces as of Monday.Some of the smoke from the more than 100 wildfires being battled in Canada has made it to the United States, as far south as Georgia, according to The Weather Channel on Monday.
