Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Wed. June 11th, 2025

June 11, 2025
Good news, everyone! This Summer, you’ll be able to go for a swim at Dows Lake, as the NCC opens a new recreational swimming spot at Commissioners Park. The dock includes Muskoka chairs and bike racks, while also serving as a spot to launch canoes and kayaks. CFRA’s Chris Holski delivers the details. Later in Hour 2, we have another chapter to a controversial safer supply clinic in Downtown Ottawa. The Northwood Recovery Clinic on Somerset Street West has been grinding people’s gears for several weeks now, and residents thought peace would prevail after it was expected to close on Monday. Today, it has reopened under new management, and with a new name. CTV’s Austin Lee provides the context. Then, we hear from Dr. David D’Souza, the Medical Director of what is now called New Dawn Medical.
