The Ontario government has appointed supervisors to oversee the finances of four school boards including in Toronto and Ottawa, after investigations that the province says revealed concerns over large deficits, depleting reserves and fiscal mismanagement.
Education Minister Paul Calandra on Friday announced that the government is appointing supervisors to the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB).
