Rogers Communications Inc. RCI-B-T has closed its deal to buy BCE Inc.’s BCE-T 37.5 per cent stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to become the majority owner of the company.Rogers now holds a 75 per cent stake in the owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts and Toronto FC.

Starting this Summer, as part of a new pilot project, certain stores in select Quebec cities will be open late on weekends. Gatineau is among the list of participants, with the province citing its geographical location near the Ontario border as a primary reason. Non-food businesses, ranging from boutique stores to market shops, will be allowed to stay open until 8PM on Saturdays and Sundays. However, this will not apply to grocery stores and pharmacies.
