BREAKING: Ozzy Osbourne dies at 76, just weeks after his farewell show

July 22, 2025

Singer Ozzy Osbourne has died, the family said in a statement.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,” the statement notes.

The 76-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s passing comes only weeks after he performed in The Back to the Beginning farewell concert in London, featuring a lineup of bands such as Metallica, Guns ‘N Roses and others.

Born in Birmingham, England, in 1948, Osbourne, 76, rose to fame with Black Sabbath in 1968, pioneering heavy metal rock music and recording hits such as “Paranoid,” “Iron Man” and “War Pigs.” He later embarked on a solo career, debuting with his iconic “Crazy Train” in 1980, followed by more than a dozen albums in the decades that followed.

Later in life, he and his wife Sharon, along with their son Jack and daughter Kelly, found wider fame as stars of “The Osbournes” reality television show.

He had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019.
