As Ottawa prepares to host the 2025 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference Aug. 17-20, I want to offer both congratulations and encouragement to our mayor and council. Ottawa author Barbara Fradkin retired after more than 25 years as a child psychologist in order to devote more time to her writing a passion since she was a child. She is part of the notorious Ladies' Killing Circle, which edited anthologies of mystery short stories by Canadian women. She is a two-time winner in Storyteller Magazine's annual Great Canadian Short Story Contest, as well as a four-time nominee for the Crime Writers' of Canada Award for Excellence for Best Short Story.
