Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. July 30th, 2025

July 30, 2025

When it comes to work-issued cellphones, the Canadian government is dialing it back a notch, as it favours computer-based softphones and budget-saving alternatives. Do you use a company phone at your workplace? Why or why not? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Plus, the makers of Chat GPT have rolled out their latest invention. It’s called ‘Chat GPT Agent’, and other A.I. companies are planning to introduce similar tools. It’s a technological tool that is designed to be a virtual ‘personal assistant’. And while it seems like a cool toy at first glance, it’s also raising plenty of questions about reliability and security. Joining us in Hour 3 to address these concerning pitfalls is Sinead Bovell, a Canadian futurist and the founder of a tech education company called WAYE.
