When I was a child, I was proud to be a Canadian (I still am and always will be), and I looked up to the United States, which I felt was a democracy like no other. Over the years, I enjoyed my frequent visits to the U.S., where a Canadian could enter without the need for a passport. The friendship between Canada and the U.S. was amicable, and visiting Canadians and Americans were always greeted warmly on both sides of the border. Read More
