N.S. man gets ticket on purpose for walking in woods to fight fire-safety ban

Jeff Evely, a People’s Party of Canada candidate in the April 28 federal election, was fined almost $29,000 for violating a Nova Scotia fire-safety ban on entering the woods.
Two of the late actor Joseph Ziegler’s biggest fans were the eminent theatre critic Robert Cushman and his wife, Arlene Gould. Mr. Cushman deemed Mr. Ziegler the kind of actor with so much depth and skill that he could elevate even a less-than-fabulous production.
