Calgarian Emi Bossio, who has been battling lung cancer for six years, spent nine days in intensive care last summer after falling ill with COVID. She suffered a pulmonary embolism and had pneumonia in both lungs.

A Canadian resident has been arrested after his alleged involvement in the high-profile smuggling of a young Indian family of four who froze to death along the U.S. border in Manitoba in early 2022.
