Ottawa Now - How will Carney's 'Buy Canadian' policy impact Canada's economy?

September 5, 2025

Prime Minister Mark Carney has invented a ‘Buy Canadian’ procurement policy, and we should see it in action by 2026. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was quick to criticize Carney’s approach, describing it as an ‘all-show, no-go’ on policy and progress. How will these federal contracting dollars impact our economy as a whole? Pedro Antunes, a Chief Economist with the Conference Board of Canada, joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
