Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. September 15th, 2025

September 15, 2025

Summer 2025 has turned into a series of on-and-off shutdowns for LRT Line 1. And for those who are crossing their fingers for a reprieve, those disruptions are expected to continue until at least early-Fall. RTM says they will be performing work on Line 1 between September 26th and October 5th, which means no Line 1 service after 8PM on September 26th. After that, for 5 of the next 6 nights, late-night travel will be limited. And then, for both October 4th and October 5th, they won’t be running all day. River Ward councillor Riley Brockington joins the program in Hour 2 with his thoughts. Turning our attention to alcohol consumption, and where we find our booze, a jaw-dropping 86 Beer Stores across the province have been shuttered by the Ford government since the Alcohol Expansion Plan took off. Thanks to these closures, people have had to turn to other avenues or places to drop off their empties. However, not everyone wants to take them. Joining us to elaborate on the burden this has caused for Canada’s grocery stores is Sebastian Prins. He is the Director of Ontario Government Relations at the Retail Council of Canada.
