Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. September 18th, 2025

The Ford government is looking to expand Ontario’s existing pharmacist prescription powers, an effort that should hopefully relieve further pressure from the province’s family doctors. Ontario is also looking to stack on an additional 14 health issues that pharmacists can cover. As of right now, that list already includes 19 ailments. What is the most personal question that you’ve ever posed to your pharmacist? Are you comfortable getting a prescription from one, and should they be able to possess Alberta-type powers? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, OC Transpo is launching a year-long pilot project, as real-time display screens will soon be featured at 4 transit locations. CTV’s Tyler Fleming has more on that. Plus, it’s a Thursday afternoon, which means it’s time for some plant talk with gardening expert Carson Arthur! This Saturday, we are officially waving goodbye to Summer and preparing for the crisp Fall air. And as the temperatures get colder, some plants need pruning. We explain which ones in Hour 3.
