Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Wed. September 24th, 2025

September 24, 2025

There are roughly 50 small-scale homeless encampments dispersed throughout Canada’s Capital. According to recent complaints from residents in Sandy Hill and Lowertown, it’s taking the municipality far too long to respond to these encampment surges. Meantime, city officials are pointing to a shortage of police officers as a reason for these response backlogs.
