Ottawa Now - Local councillor hatches an idea to solve transit gaps in rural ridings

October 2, 2025

Rideau-Jock councillor David Brown says Ottawa’s rural residents aren’t being adequately served by OC Transpo. And now, he is hatching an idea that will hopefully bridge that gap. He is proposing a form of ‘privatized transit’, explained further in an online post he made last weekend. Councillor Brown’s wards include a wide range of communities, from Manotick and Richmond to North Gower. He joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
