Hundreds rally in support of striking Alberta teachers

The union representing 51,000 Alberta teachers currently on a provincewide strike says it has asked the province to resume negotiations starting Tuesday. The news came as about 500 people rallied in support of the teachers south of Calgary.

The measures will be rolled out in the upcoming federal budget, scheduled to be tabled on November 4, Prime Minister Mark Carney said.
