Ottawa Now - Ontario NDP Education Critic raises concerns over province's decision to scrap OCDSB program review

October 9, 2025

Earlier this week, the OCDSB’s controversial elementary program review was scrapped by the Ford government, which had previously taken control of the school board following a slew of deficits. This review involved changes to programs, grade structures, and school boundaries. And when it was unveiled, a lot of parents got increasingly worried. In a letter addressed to parents, OCDSB supervisor Robert Plamondon said the changes would instead be replaced with an approach that ‘doesn’t disrupt students and is reflective of community feedback’. That decision has since sparked concerns from Ontario NDP Education Critic Chandra Pasma, who represents Ottawa West-Nepean. She joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
