Ottawa Now - More and more Ottawa-based households bitten by food insecurity

The number of households that are feeling the wrath of food insecurity are still climbing. Here in Canada’s Capital, social assistance rates and minimum wage increases have not kept up with the cost of living, according to Ottawa Public Health. And back in September, Alta Vista councillor Marty Carr put forward a motion that was designed to target this exact issue. She joins Kristy Cameron to explain how things are coming along on that front. Then, we check in with Vladimir Solorzano, who is the Grocery Program Manager at the Parkdale Food Centre.
