On Wednesday, the Ford government introduced a motion to fast-track an omnibus bill that would bypass committee hearings entirely. This comes as a proposed provincial legislation would bar municipalities from building new bike lanes if they replaced a lane of vehicle traffic, potentially jeopardizing plans to expand Ottawa’s bike infrastructure. Rob Attrell, a Board Member with Bike Ottawa, outlines his concerns on today's Ottawa Now. He feels that Bill 60 ignores the hard work and planning that the City of Ottawa is already doing, and that Queen's Park should stay in their lane.
