Rabbi Mendel Zaltzman says residents are “extremely upset” after mezuzahs were ripped from their doorways over the weekend.
“They feel violated, that such a thing should happen literally at the door of their home,” the rabbi told National Post on Monday. Zaltzman is the CEO of the Jewish Russian Community Centre, located near the apartment building where the incident occurred in North York.
He said the seniors affected are mainly part of the Russian Jewish community.
