‘Mindblowing’ population of feral goldfish in Ottawa pond to be euthanized

The City of Ottawa is preparing to euthanize a school of invasive goldfish in a stormwater pond near the Central Experimental Farm — though a local fish scientist warns the city may be vastly underestimating the scale of the problem.

The agreement, called the Canadian Mutual Recognition Agreement, was signed by all the provinces, territories and the federal government on Nov. 17.
