Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. November 24th, 2025

November 24, 2025

We have an official idea as to when transit riders will be able to take the O-Train into Orleans. The Eastern Extension of LRT, which extends the line from Blair Station to Trim Station, was originally expected to be operational this year. Today, we can confirm that it won’t be open before Christmas, or even New Year’s Eve. However, it’s likely to receive the green light in the early stages of 2026. Joining Kristy Cameron for today’s Municipal Heat Panel are Beacon Hill-Cyrville councillor Tim Tierney and Barrhaven East councillor Wilson Lo. Meantime, the co-owner of a ByWard Market bar is venting her frustrations over a recent stretch of strict parking enforcement. Deek Labelle, who manages and co-owns the Chateau Lafayette on York Street, is calling for a city-wide review of Ottawa Bylaw Services, arguing that enforcement in the area is getting out of hand. She explains further in Hour 2.
