The co-owner of a ByWard Market bar is venting her frustrations over a recent stretch of strict parking enforcement. Deek Labelle, who manages and co-owns the Chateau Lafayette on York Street, is calling for a city-wide review of Ottawa Bylaw Services, arguing that enforcement in the area is getting out of hand. Labelle also wants clarity from City Hall on Ottawa’s parking restrictions, and how unnecessary tickets can be minimized moving forward. She joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.

A Somali woman barred from Canada for five years for giving false names and birth dates for herself and her two children while applying for refugee status here, dodging the fact that she had entered into a polygamous marriage with a Canadian-Somali man, has won another chance at staying in this country.
