Deal reached to allow grocers to avoid accepting beer and wine empties

Ontario grocers and The Beer Store have reached an agreement-in-principle on alcohol recycling that will allow the retailers to avoid collecting empties.

Toronto police are investigating after a transit worker was allegedly stabbed at a downtown subway station Wednesday afternoon.Police say they responded to a report of a stabbing at Dundas Station just after 1 p.m., and officers found a person with stab wounds.Police say they arrested a male suspect at the scene, and both he and the alleged victim were taken to hospital with injuries.
