Northern B.C. bitcoin mines are transitioning into AI data centres

Iren, the company behind major data centres in northern B.C. is converting its infrastructure from bitcoin mining into AI storage. The Australia-based company is upgrading equipment at its sites in Prince George, Mackenzie and Canal Flats sites.

The Ontario government is taking control of the Near North District School Board, citing a ministry review that found dysfunction and mismanagement.It is the sixth school board to be put under supervision this year and the first using the new powers given to the Minister of Education under a controversial bill that passed Nov. 19.
