City flags lowered to half-mast to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
The flags at all City of Ottawa sites will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, December 6 to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Established in 1991 by the Government of Canada, this day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal. December 6 is also an opportunity to reflect on violence against women in our society.
