Hamilton police are urging people not to go on frozen waterways as temperatures rise, saying it puts not only those on the ice in danger but also those who try to rescue them.
Quebec coroner Stéphanie Gamache will lead a public inquiry into the deaths of five unhoused people, which took place over the past seven months in Montreal. The city’s mayor, who was in tears in late March while announcing the deaths of two people experiencing homelessness, says the final report will include recommendations for authorities aimed at preventing such occurrences.
