Sophie Djeme-Mi Koumazock’s doctor prescribed her a new drug to slow the progression of incurable breast cancer. But as a federal employee, her insurance plan through Canada Life won’t foot the monthly bill, which could be as expensive as $12,000.
Durham regional police said the pilot had left at about 8:30 a.m. Friday and was expected back about an hour later. When he did not arrive, a search began.

Police say the incident occurred on June 13 between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. at a building located at 51 Adair Ave. S. in Hamilton.
