City commemorates National Peacekeepers’ Day

Sunday, August 9 is National Peacekeepers’ Day, a day that honours all Canadian peacekeepers who have served or who are currently serving in peacekeeping operations around the world.
The flags at all City of Ottawa sites will be flown at half-mast on Sunday, August 9 from sunrise until sunset to commemorate the courageous and committed individuals who have given their lives in the pursuit of peace around the world.

The Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame's class of 2026, which includes former NBA player Jamaal Magloire, former Carleton Ravens men's head coach Dave Smart and Olympic flag-bearer Miranda Ayim, was set to be inducted Thursday night.
