“They Have Set an Ambush for Themselves”

This post provides a great backdrop for the gathering of close to one thousand people dedicated to climate change activism. The video provides a summary of 23 hours of presentations and dialogue featured during 24 Hours of Reality, the Dirty Weather Report.

We have quadrupled world population in less than 100 years, we have developed powerful technologies to use the earth’s resources in our quest for continuing economic growth.

85% of our energy comes from fossil fuels and we emit 90 million tons of pollution into the air every day. The consequences of doing this are clear. The evidence is indisputable.

This generation must dig down and bring out its best efforts to improve our world for future generations. That has always been the covenant. The next generations will ask one of two questions:

1. You were aware of the dire consequences of continuing the destructive practices (on a global scale) during your lifetime and did nothing about it. What were you thinking?

2. How did you find the moral courage and sense of purpose to face the gargantuan challenges of your times to improve the planet’s health for the well-being of future generations?
