CBC documentary "The Greenvadders" a real gem!

September 6, 2015

After many years of working behind the scene, the non-profit organization, DumpthisDump2, has finally received the much needed attention it deserves, as well as to raise the real environmental issues that Ontario and Canada need to address.

PIX3, a local producer, convinced CBC to air a documentary about local Ottawa community groups' fight against some powerful corporations, such as TaggartMiller, and make their issue a provincial one.

For once, the message was clear - many Ottawa groups being vocal about the same issue.  That landfills in 2015 should no longer be approved.  That this is not a NIMBY (Not in my back yard) syndrome but that landfills are a product of businesses wanting a quick fix... Dig a hole, throw in the garbage, charge per truckload, make a lot of money, fill up the hole and then move on to build a new one, leaving rural residents on their own to deal with the contaminated soil and water it left behind.

If you didn't have the chance to view the documentary "The Greenvadders", in which DumpthisDump2 team was interviewed, you don't know what you've missed.  Kudos to the producer PIX3 for a job well done!  Here is the link:  http://www.cbc.ca/player/Kids/Kids/ID/2675020095/

Please take the time to view the documentary and share it  with as many people as possible. We need social media reaction at this point.  Strength is in the numbers!
