This is not the first time the CBC has been excluding Greens in riding profiles. I would like to see an apology and some corrective measure from the CBC on today's radio & website gaff ... perhaps a balanced reporting of the PIPS/PSAC debate tomorrow night or the PEO/WesleyClover debate on Oct 6th - I'm representing the Greens at both events.
Ottawa West-Nepean - granted - did not have a candidate when you profiled them. However the online nature of cbc.ca could benefit from an update since many voters will search out candidate information closer to the election. Google should help you find Mark Brooks ... he also spoke at All In A Day a week or so ago. Perhaps Alan Neal can help there.
The Gatineau riding profile by CBC radio also neglected to mention the Green candidate ... the party's website has carried Guy Dostaler's information (https://www.greenparty.ca/en/riding/2013-24027) long before the election.
You may notice the Ottawa Citizen always mentions all 4 of the national parties in their pieces ... least they might appear to be trying to ignore someone at the benefit of others. http://ottawacitizen.com/tag/election-2015-nepean
My team has been sending email to cbcnewsottawa@cbc.ca ... I've now added each of you so any miscommunication within the Ottawa office will not impede your reporting.
Closing, I'm amazed how much effort the CBC Ottawa team has put into trying to present the Conservatives who have been utterly contemptuous of all media that dare ask it questions while the Green Party is wide open.
Yours,
Jean-Luc Cooke
