About the author

I was raised in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and graduated on the Dean’s List from Laurentian University in Sudbury with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in political science. I moved to Ottawa in order to take up a position on Parliament Hill and ultimately worked as a special assistant to four Cabinet ministers, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. A long-standing interest in community and social affairs led me to change career paths a few years later. I enrolled at Carleton University and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree (highest honours) in 2001 and a master’s degree in the same field in 2002, then went on to work with families affected by domestic violence.

I am currently serving as a school board trustee with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Since my election, I have proven myself to be an effective representative who works with her community, the broader community, her colleagues on the Board, and Staff to get positive results for students and their families.

Prior to being elected Trustee in 2010, I was an active and dedicated volunteer in the Zone 3 school community.

MacLeod hypocritical about election signs

June 7, 2014

So, my local MPP Lisa Macleod is going on and on about illegal signs. Meanwhile she has illegally placed signs all over the place.

The by-law is clear you cannot put signs in a median.

She is a career politician, she should know the rules by now. How hypocritical.

Hopefully she won't threaten me again for this post. But, the rules apply to her too!!!!
