Vote for Martin Canning on Oct. 18 for real change in Somerset Ward

October 15, 2014

This was an email to supporters.

As of tomorrow we're just two days away from the final early voting opportunity and Martin is the candidate with all the momentum.

Last week we announced that, in addition to the commitments in his platform, Martin has five community actions that will directly impact the lives of people across Somerset Ward. They are:

  • add a crosswalk on Queen Elizabeth Drive (close to Waverley St)
  • install a garden box at Dundonald Park
  • introduce traffic calming measures on Arlington Ave (close to Bronson Ave)
  • create space for a dog play area at McNabb Park
  • stop or reduce late night snow dumping beside the former Ottawa Technical High School

These actions separate Martin from the pack because they're simple and achievable commitments that will make the ward safer for pedestrians, improve quality of life, and create a sense of community. It is Martin's belief in small, impactful actions that make him the best candidate for city council in Somerset Ward.

To show your support for Martin Canning, you can vote at Plant Recreation Centre (930 Somerset St. West) on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For more information, please visit Martin's website at newottawa.ca.

See you on Saturday!
