Ralph Martin grew up on his family farm in Wallenstein, ON. His formal education includes, a Ph.D. in Plant Science from McGill University. He began teaching at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, in 1990, and in 2001, founded the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada. In 2011, he was appointed as Professor and the Loblaw Chair in Sustainable Food Production at the University of Guelph. Ralph retired in 2019 and was a candidate for the Green Party of Canada in Wellington-Halton Hills.
