Freeland outlines key spending measures in 2024 budget

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland's latest budget projects spending of $535 billion this year, with a deficit of $39.8 billion. She says the spending plan is aimed at creating generational fairness, which will be funded, in part, by changes to capital gains taxes. (April 16, 2024)

While he did refuse several requests from the Speaker, on the final time Poilievre was clearly heard to say, "I withdraw the comment and substitute with the aforementioned adjectives." While perhaps not the most elegant or sincere withdrawal, he did in fact use the word "withdraw."
