Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre suggested this week that, if elected, he would use the notwithstanding clause to push for some criminal justice reforms, a move that experts say would be significant and historic.

Yes, let’s ignore people’s rights to achieve our political agenda. This is what extremism looks like at the beginning. Just wait if he gets elected.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I expect a move like this will result in provinces wanting to leave the Canadian federation, which I believe is PP’s ultimate goal—To destroy Canada.
