An emergency alert has been issued in an area west of Edmonton for two armed men.Mounties say the men are on foot after a robbery.They say people in the area of Mayerthorpe should not open their doors to strangers or pick up hitchhikers.

A sod-turning ceremony is set to be held Saturday morning at the site of the deadly Humboldt Broncos bus crash in Saskatchewan.A committee comprising the players’ families, board members with the junior hockey team, city councillors and others says it is ready to move ahead with the first phase of building a permanent memorial at the crash site to honour the victims.The first phase will involve preparing the site, including earth moving, and the creation of pathways and a sitting area.
