Thousands of Ottawa’s renters will be eligible for a reduction in their renting fees for 2026. That’s largely thanks to a change in the municipal tax rate for older multi-residential properties. CTV’s Josh Pringle delivers the details. Meantime, the Ottawa Real Estate Board is calling out the Carney Liberals. They argue that the Canada Strong Budget is falling short of solving the immediate challenges that are facing Ottawa’s renters and homebuyers. President Paul Czan explains further in Hour 1. The agreement, called the Canadian Mutual Recognition Agreement, was signed by all the provinces, territories and the federal government on Nov. 17.
