B.C. pursues new markets in India as diplomacy takes a back seat to trade

B.C. Premier David Eby boarded a flight for India on Friday, embarking on a trade mission to a country that only recently was in a serious diplomatic dispute with Canada.
As far as trade missions go, this trip is a no-frills excursion. There are no industry delegates tagging along, and no ribbon-cutting photo ops planned. The Premier’s entourage includes his Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth, Ravi Kahlon, and a few staff members.
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau shared a personal message with fans and followers about being “uncoupled at 50” and adjusting to the challenges of “midlife singlehood.”
“Fine. I’ll admit it. On the surface, being ‘uncoupled’ at 50 on Valentine’s Day doesn’t make me feel amazing,” she wrote in a newsletter distributed on Saturday.

OTTAWA — The official portrait of former prime minister Stephen Harper will be unveiled today on Parliament Hill, 20 years after he won an election that marked the beginning of almost a decade in power for the Conservatives.
The unveiling ceremony is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. ET, with Prime Minister Mark Carney set to deliver remarks.
