Union pushes back on latest call for Ontario paramedics college

The union representing thousands of Ontario paramedics is pushing back against the latest call for a college regulating the profession, saying such a move would place unfair financial burdens on paramedics already facing inadequate compensation on top of escalating workloads and burnout.

Ontario Provincial Police say they put out a shelter-in-place alert for part of the Central Frontenac community early Tuesday morning. The suspect was later arrested and the alert lifted.
