Australia to cull dingoes found circling young Canadian woman’s body

A pack of dingoes found circling the body of a young Canadian after her death on a beach in Australia will be culled, government officials announced Saturday.
The family of Piper James has said the 19-year-old from Campbell River, B.C., ventured out Monday for an early-morning swim on a beach on K’gari, an island off Australia’s east coast.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is delivering prepared remarks to the province in her first live address since May 2025.
Smith is expected to focus on the issue of immigration, as a record level of newcomers entering Alberta has heaped new strain on the province’s health care and education systems.
